The Stax Music Academy is the only organization in the world preserving and promoting the legacy of Stax Records with programming that teaches underserved young people the history of Stax, teaches the techniques of Stax, and mentors students who perform Stax music around the world.
Most of the students at the Stax Music Academy attend via financial need-based scholarships provided by the Soulsville Foundation, which depends on corporations, foundations, individuals, and others for financial support.
